Event Details

MargoMadness workshops combine beautiful materials (furnished by us), originality of design choices (furnished by you), and the belief that creating one of a kind handcrafted items for loved ones (including you) while communing with other fun people IS what makes life better!

The Hostess Apron Workshop was designed with you in mind. It’s a beautiful, personalized, custom apron for the consummate hostess and entertainer in your life. This apron is NOT for all the work they do before the party. A hostess apron is an extension of character, honoring generous spirit and effort, and is designed to be put on just prior to guests’ arrival, allowing the hostess to welcome all effortlessly.

In this 2-part, 2-hour workshop, the Hostess Apron Workshop is filled to the brim with customization: You’ll select from a large variety of luxury fabrics and begin the customized design of your creation. Is your gift to be for a Country Betty or a Fancy Nancy?

Aprons will use the MargoMadness cut-out pattern, but custom edits are permitted. We will discuss how you want your apron to look with consideration of your chosen fabrics. We will drink wine and laugh too.

When you arrive at the 2nd session of the Hostess Apron workshop, you’ll find your apron sewn together and now ready for decoration and detail! This class selects decoration that fits the personality of your beloved Hostess. MargoMadness has a plethora of flowers, brads, beads, ribbons and iconic items such as things for “dog or cat people” for your review and choice picks. All materials are included with the cost of the workshop.

MargoMadness crafting classes are held every second and third Wednesday of the month from 7:00pm to 9:00pm here at PHOENIX.

Hostess Apron attendees can attend any two Wednesday sessions to complete one apron. For a more complete description of this workshop and other upcoming classes, please email margo@margomadness.com

12oct6:00 pm9:00 pm100 Days of ArtWorks by Stefanie Renee and Victoria Heifner6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

more

Event Details

With the simple desire to be more creative in our personal lives, friends Stef and Vic started out with the small intention of creating one piece a day, in any medium we chose. Given that we both have full-time work and families, we instantly found that in order to be successful in finishing this, neither of us could get too precious about it—the point of the project is that we each completed a piece every day.

To hold ourselves more accountable, we each took a daily photo, adding the hashtag “#100Daysof [ ]”, and uploaded it to Instagram. This project started out as a small intention, and eventually grew to a large body of work. What we found interesting, is that the simple meditative act of making something each day gave us greater access to our own creativity. Bigger projects were born, and in this process, we were able to inspire others. We are delighted to be able to show all of our pieces together and in one space.

Stefanie Renee is an artist, teacher, and photographer. She is also a keen observer, with a poet’s soul.

She has been creating a “something a day” for over 10 years now—first with photography, and then with drawing and watercolors. For her #100Days, she chose to combine her watercolors with embroidery. She loves to fill her pictures with stories that she makes up about the people she sees in her daily life. She will continue to experiment with fiber arts and is excited to see where it takes her.

She offers an e-course called “Jumpstart Your Art”, which can be found at stefanierenee.net.
To see what else she’s up to, find her on Instagram is @stefaneerene.

Victoria Heifner is a letterpress printer, a self-taught artist, designer, lover of pop culture, and grocery stores.

With a background in bookbinding, and letterpress printing, she is the creator of Milkfed Press, where she offers social stationery and small press work to clients all over the world.
Since letterpress printing requires a very specific type of illustration, she opted to combine her quirky hand-lettering with her new-found love of gouache paint for her #100Days. The (self-imposed) limitation of a 3-color palette freed her up to focus on simply creating. She looks forward to working with many colors in the future.

Her letterpress work can be found at milkfedpress.com, and for other updates, please find her on Instagram Milkfed Press.
