Why Native Plants are Important

Climate change and mass extinction are threatening the ability of our planet’s ecosystem to support human life. But it doesn’t have to be our destiny. Come learn how native landscapes can bring wildlife back from the brink, sequester carbon, and heal our relationship with nature. We’ll talk about the all stars and ways to get started with native plants no matter what space and budget you have.

Patrick (they/them) is a designer and horticulturist with a deep interest in native plants and how they can be used. They serve on the board of directors for Mulford Gardens and help lead Homegrown Habitats, a native plant community group based in San Leandro.
