Meet the dynamic duo behind Alameda Soda Co. Together, Sky and Anthony, have crafted the unique and flavorful sodas that are making waves in the market. From their dedication to community to their passion for creating joy through their products, Sky and Anthony embody the spirit of entrepreneurship.
A passion for art & nature
David Nyquist is no stranger to PHOENIX, his artwork has adorned the walls of PHOENIX for years, and now it's official—he's joined us as a studio artist! We’re proud to now be the place where his creativity thrives.
We couldn't be more thrilled to have his incredible talent as part of our community on a daily basis.
David and his wife Amy are also the creators and owners of the Alameda Young Naturalist Club, which has quickly become a beloved service in our Island Community.

Crafting Joy Through Flavor
After seven years of collaboration, Sky Pace (CEO) and Anthony Sloan (CFO) of Alameda Soda Co. continue to infuse their passion into every fizz and flavor. Formerly of Dr Pepper, their journey together began in the world of corporate giants, but their hearts longed for something more personal.
When asked about their career highlights, Anthony expressed satisfaction in creating something tangible that brings joy and connection to others. For Sky, the thrill lies in the nostalgia sparked by taste, akin to the way a familiar song transports us back in time.
Their brainchild, the Alameda Soda Co., specializes in boutique sodas, each boasting a unique and flavorful profile. Embracing simplicity and quality, they sought to revive the essence of traditional soda, steering away from mass production in favor of a more artisanal approach.
Their latest venture into retail, featuring canned versions of their beloved sodas, marks an exciting milestone for the company. They highly value their customer bonds with a foundation on maintaining a strong local presence, emphasizing their commitment to authenticity and community integration.
When asked what superpower each one would possess, Anthony dreams of a superpower to freeze time or carbonate at will, while Sky values the virtue of patience. Both dedicated residents of Alameda, they value the island's eclectic community and Alameda’s unique charm.
Outside of work, Sky and Anthony immerse themselves in diverse pursuits. While Sky constantly has the Alameda Soda Co. on his mind, he manages to dabble with his passion for paramotoring, and Anthony finds his zen when belting out karaoke classics like "I Got Friends in Low Places" when given the opportunity to step behind a mic.
As Sky and Anthony continue to blend creativity and craftsmanship at Alameda Soda Company, their dedication to quality, community, and the simple joy of a well-crafted soda remains unwavering.

Creating Impactful Brand Narratives with Heart and Vision
Madison Kahn, a talented creative director and copywriter, has been helping brands find their voice and tell their stories for nearly 15 years. With a background in journalism and a keen eye for innovative advertising and branding, Madison’s journey into the creative industry has been nothing short of inspiring.
Madison began her career with aspirations of saving the world as an environmental journalist. However, she soon realized that making a living in the Bay Area would require a shift in focus. This led her to the world of branding and advertising, where she discovered that brands could have a bigger audience and potentially make a greater impact than traditional journalism.
Working with companies like Elf Cosmetics, known for their boundary-pushing approach in the beauty industry, has been particularly rewarding. Madison enjoys the challenge of working with innovative startups, helping them develop unique products and brand identities.
One of Madison’s most memorable projects was during her journalism days, partnering with a charter school to create a magazine about what it’s like to be 18 in America. This experience allowed her to work closely with teenagers, helping them tell their stories and giving them a platform for their voices.
At PHOENIX, Madison appreciates the professional environment that provides her with the necessary separation between work and personal life. Initially trying to work from home while participating in a nanny share, she quickly realized the need for a dedicated workspace. PHOENIX, conveniently located less than a mile from her home, offers Madison a place to focus and be productive, allowing her to return home for lunch and take her dog for walks.
Outside of work, Madison loves spending time outdoors, running, biking, hiking, and camping. Now that she has a one-year-old, these activities often include chasing after her newly walking child. Her go-to karaoke song is Spice Girls’ “Wannabe,” and her hidden talent is ceramics, having created numerous mugs and bowls over the years.
Madison remains open to new and interesting freelance opportunities, always seeking ways to engage her creativity in fresh and impactful projects. Her passion for creativity and her ability to tell compelling stories make her a valuable asset to any brand looking to make a significant impact.
